Somehow this seems to be flying under the radar

Article says it's mostly unfilled positions. So, not many actual people likely impacted.

Plus, the winds of change blow often, and all this could be completely undone next year, depending on November results.

Who would say that as "certain" ? Could certainly see possible or probable. But certain seems certainly inappropriate.

i don’t know. Maybe he misspoke. It was the senior leaders who were talking to us. He said that they kept getting briefings on it. But you are right. Who knows what will happen in the world. I think he wanted us to remember it wasn’t just a prestigious school but our kids would be training as military officers which could mean they will be serving in combat.

Wow. This happened at an Admissions briefing at USNA?
 
I agree there is no way to know for certain about future wars. But history says, unfortunately, there will be another one someday.

I don't think anyone signs up to serve without knowing it's a possibility, but certainly not one anyone relishes...
