Looking for some idea of next steps - my son got a nomination from our MOC for each of the SAs today - one for each academy. We are in Colorado and we've been told that the MOC and senators are very good about working together so no one gets a nomination from a MOC and a senator or from two senators.

What next? I realize this means he could be a slate with up to 9 other applicants, but what do the statistics look like from here?

thanks!

Finish up applications. Work on alternate plans. Stay strong in school. Avoid trouble. Enjoy family and friends. Wait, hope, wait some more.

Some posters here use the rough thumbnail of about half of fully qualified applicants with noms receive offers of appointment. Specifically, though, it depends on how your DS compares to other fully qualified applicants on his slate. If he fails to “win the slate,” he can still be be plucked from the national pool per applicable guidelines for filling out a class.

There is absolutely no way to know.

[For new readers, there are 5 Federal Academies. USMA, USNA, USAFA are the DOD ones, and USMMA is DOT. USCGA is not mandated to use the nomination system.]
