sorry for posting here if I wasn't supposed to, but I'm new here

I have a cumulative GPA of 4.14/5, and have taken AP Euro, AP Bio, AP Calc AB, AP US History, AP Physics C, AP Literature, and will take AP Economics, AP Government, AP Chem, and AP Calc BC my senior year.
-My SAT score right now is a 2160, 710 CR 740 M 710 W, but I plan on breaking 2300 in October.
-4 year varsity wrestler, and have made it to sectionals in California
-2 year team captain
-attended a leadership program that would take members overseas to develop leadership skills and engage in community service
-led a group on a community service project that helped out an impoverished community in Nicaragua
30 hours volunteered at stanford hospital, 40 in Nicaragua, 30+ helping disabled children
president of a club that sent 7 students from my school to Nicaragua

Attending USMA has been a dream of mine for 2 years, and now that I'm actually applying I'm really nervous

I would say you have a very strong academic and athletic profile but you will never know unless you apply. Go for it.

real good, assuming you will be medically qualified and you won't "self-destruct" during the nomination interview.

With a smaller class size than previous years (last year was supposed to be 1150, so it should be around 1150 this year too), with all the appointments required by the law, your best chance for an appointment is winning your MOC's slot. So you have to be top 2 in your state (two senatorial appointment) or #1 applicant in your Congressional district. Think of as a 100 m dash, running it under 10 second is very impressive and will put you in top 99.9999%m but it someone beats you by .001 second you won't finish first.

I served on my MOC's nomination board and one year we didn't give a nomination to a kid like you, accomplishment wise. He basically told us all the wrong things.

Where do you rank in your overall class?

Are you in the hunt for National Merit Status?

How do you feel about your recommendations?

Is everything done & in admissions hands, timeliness is huge?:thumb:

Really, no one on here can rate anyone's chances for an appointment. How well will you interview with your MOC, what did your teacher recommendations say? Even candidates don't generally know what teachers say about them so you can't just look at your GPA and ECA to make any kind of meaningful assessment.
