SOUND OFF! RA Mail Stalkers/DoD"NERDS"

I know that this is the CGA string but as a fellow DODNERD I would like to share some great news. I just check DODMERB and low and behold offer extended for the USNA.:beer1: She sitting next to me and has no idea. I'm going to let her MOC notify her.

Congrats!! And a big "wow" on having the self-restraint to wait. I couldn't do it!!

Is she still awaiting CGA as well? If so, the wait will be a little (LOT) easier with USNA in hand!

Again, Congrats to your daughter!

Thanks :) Now with NROTC scholarship to Duke and USNA offer in hand it will make the wait for CGA and Duke a tolerable. :yllol:

Congratulations!

LadderdaddyO,

That is great news I am happy for you and your daughter!

Congratulations on the great news. :thumb: I just can't believe your restraint. I have several scenarois swimming in my mind of how to tell my son if he receives an appointment. You'll always be a loyal card carrying DoDNERD I hope. Enjoy this time. -officer

The Cats out of the bag!

So I'm sitting here watching the Olympics and my d is on my laptop on the other couch. I look over and a confused smile comes over her face. "One of my AIM friends on facebook said congratulation on your appointment to the USNA". So I quickly explain the DoDNERd/DoDMERB process and congratulate her. Wife crying /all in disbelieve, including her. My 16 year old dog even got into the action.
To the young man that spilled the beans. Its OK don't sweat it. I don't know where you live!LOL

i asked this question on another thread....didn't like the answer...is it reasonable to assume you are triple q'd for USNA and USCGA if you already received an appointment offer from USMMA? and yes, by the way, i am a DODnerd!!!

I wouldn't assume that, as each academy has its own academic/scholastic standards that must be met.

Once had a coach that explained the true meaning of 'assume'.

Yes, last year, there were a few that were triple qualified for a variety of academies and had nominations for each.

Uggghhhh! Everytime I check DoDMERB (which is 3 times an hour) and it still says "in process", I point and shoot lighning bolts out of my fingers like the Dark Lord in Star Wars. zap zap crackle crackle  I really want to crack that bottle of champagne in my frig. -officer

3 days until March....it's a good month. My birthday, son's appointment....and hopefully your boy's appointment!

What a great way to find out! Congratulations!!!

We are still waiting, hoping and praying

Wow! I went out of town for a couple of days and missed the start of the DoD"NERDS"!!

Count me in!! I am so anxious. As I work through the rest of the admissions process at my own job, I can't help but think about how crazy the admissions office there must be.

We have quietly started stalking our Mail Lady, but we haven't talked about it very much. I think we are all so nervous after she was passed over for EA with an LOA that we are afraid to say anything out loud. I'm not even sure that cautiously optimistic is worth saying.

Can somebody tell me where to check the status on DoDMERB. I haven't had access to it until today and I don't know where to look. I haven't even logged on yet, so it may be obvious when I get on, but I would like the quickest path to the status. I finally decided that her DoDMERB privacy was not important and I asked for access. I hope that doesn't make me a bad mom. After seeing all of you checking I just couldn't take it anymore. I NEED THE STATUS!

Thanks to everyone for you posts! Both calming and panicked. It helps so much to see other parents and applicants going through the same thing. You are all wonderful! Good luck to you.

lmchatt,

if your daughter gave her her password, then as soon as log on you should see a list of the academies or ROTC programs that she's applied to.

What people are watching is the admission status and date...to see if it's changed from the original date.

Son's date has changed many times since his original date, but we don't know what that means. He applied for EA, was deferred and we haven' heard anything since.

I know for us it is an agonizing and anxious time in our house. Knowing there are many others going through the same thing is somehow comforting.

Sending good luck to you and your daughter!

Fairwinds...Thanks so much! You would know that the site was down when I tried to access it. Oh well... just another thing to wait for.

I wish you and your son luck too!

lmchatt,

Try Dodmerb again. Son just logged on and had no problem getting in!

Well, it seems to be a little more complicated than accessing the page. My browser finally opened the page, but when I tried to login, it said that an account had not been created for that username and password. So I tried to create the account and it kept saying that it couldn't connect to the server or that the username was already in use. I tried several times and couldn't get it to work.

Then I closed the web page, opened it back up and tried to create the account again. Now it says that an account has already been created, but her username and password won't work. :frown: I have emailed the webmaster and will see what they say.

Thanks for trying to help!

We keep trying to log into DoDMERB but get this message "There is a problem with this website's security certificate.e " Anyone know what's up with that? The ARMY ROTC scholarship site tells us to log into DodMERB but we can't.
