I was given a speeding ticket after already receiving/accepted my USAFA appointment and I was pretty devastated. Squeaky clean record otherwise, and I've never been stopped before. I honestly do not believe I was speeding (though several cars around me seem to have been) but I probably will not be contesting it as I have no other evidence than my word and it's probably better to just trust the officer's judgement over my own. So I suppose I'll be taking STOP class. Anyone know how this will affect my appointment?

Our DS received a traffic ticket after his Appointment. I seem to recall he notified his Admissions Counselor. A couple of points though: It has to be 100% cleared up prior to I-Day. Also, there is an amount in the background check form that states if a traffic ticket is under a certain amount (I seem to recall $250) you don't have to report it on that form (otherwise you will have to disclose it every time you complete a background check). Our DS actually went to traffic court and asked the Judge if he would reduce the amount so it would be below that amount since he was going to USAFA and the judge agreed. Then DS did traffic school and had everything done before I-Day. Good luck......

@KTMDad Thank you so much! That's a huge relief. My ticket is $75. I wasn't able to find the background check traffic ticket amount, but I think I'll play it safe and contact my Admissions Counselor about it anyway.
