I have read a bunch of threads about getting a spondylolysis DQ d227.80 . Can anyone help me with the next steps and the best way to get a waiver. I had injured my lower back with a fall during a baseball game. I have very little to no pain and no fracture shows up on X-rays. I think my doctor was being over cautious with his diagnosis. Since the diagnosis I have never had to take off and started PT immediately. I have been able to play multiple sports and weightlifting with no problems.

“very little” to no pain? Which is it? When did this happen? 2 weeks ago, 2 months ago, or Spring 2022? If an applicant is DQ’d, I don’t think the applicant has anything to do about getting a waiver. Up to the SA to initiate the waiver request. Others can jump in.

No pain at all now. Injury happened last summer. I read that others who had this d227.80 response were able to get waivers.

Has the SA asked for a waiver or are you just trying to prepare ahead of time? Did your doctor or radiologist grade your spondylolysis? I don't know what the SA see as waiver-able, but that could make a difference. A grade 1 may be much easier than a 4.
My DD was diagnosed with spondylolysis with bilateral stress fracture in high school. They believe this happened while swimming(butterfly). She took a few months off and was able to continue on as a swimmer in college. We were told, however, that she would always be at risk of further subluxation/slipped disk. Although she was able to continue on as a collegiate athlete, I'm not sure that SA would want to take the risk.
Now, if you think you were misdiagnosed, X-ray images should be able to show that.
Either way, I wish you the best of luck!

Trying to prepare ahead of time. I will have to look at my records and see if there was a grade. I have read that other candidates have gotten waivers approved for Spondylosis. Thank you so much.

Your best course of action, at this point, is to make sure your medical records are complete and buttoned up. PERHAPS having a discussion about your military plans with your doctor. Idk. But you will have to report and follow through with the medical piece via DODMERB, when the time comes.
