Sports Coded Athlete

I put on error. I said my power clean is 185, it's not, that was my max two years ago, now it's 315. Sorry 4 that

EVD, go to the Navysports website and fill out the prospective student athlete form. This will go the coaches. If they are interested they can get in touch with you. You can always try out. Also recommend you take a look at the lightweight team. It's a unique very fast game.

Ishibashi - we heard a Mid Parent say that USNA may move/is moving from club softball to D1 softball next year. You may want to ask someone in the know.
She is looking at USMA or USCGA (the only two with softball programs), but after reading a lot of your posts I realized that you might have the best insight so I posted the question here.

DD#2 was a dual sport recruited athlete, one of the sports being softball. She received LOAs to both USCGA and USNA in September last year. She had met and spoke to the USNA softball coach several times. During their discussions after the LOAs, he told her that he could not compete with USCGA because softball at Navy is club only and has limited facilities, support, etc. The rumor that softball is moving to D1 at Navy has been floating around for years. If you talk directly to the coaches, that is not the case. DD is beyond happy to be at USCGA and to be able to continue to play both her sports.

alaska66, concur that it is rumor and from what I have seen there hasn't been anything to indicate it moving to D1. Usually there are facility upgrades, hiring of coaches prior to the move, announcements, etc. Also, it is usually a 2-4 year process before they move. Women's Golf and Women's Tennis I believe are the newest D1 sports.

A few months ago, my DW heard from a friend here in town, who is a current USNA Softball player's mom, that Navy Softball may be moving up to D1. It sounds like it might be more wishful thinking, but if I hear anything more concrete, I will post...
