Sports induced asthma?

During my freshman year of high school I was diagnosed with sports induced asthma. Although I only got out of breath due to being out of shape and now I can breathe just fine after running. I only used the prescribed inhaler twice since then and I still have it. I'm joining the afrotc program at my college. Will this cause any problems? Should I go back to my doctor to get it written off or something?

You can't take it off your records. They will ask if you have been diagnosed with it after the age of 13 and you will have to answer yes. The doctor can state that you no longer present symptons, but that is all. I would get my records in order and see if you can do a higher level asthma exam and than submit that to see if they will give you a waiver if you get a DQ.

+1 PIMA's post.

FYI: Typing "asthma" into the search box yielded 98 additional results.

Update: I talked with my doctor and she said since I was never fully diagnosed (even if I had an inhaler) or had an appointment with a specialist, that I don't have to put that I have asthma.

You should have your doctor put into your records or document for you that Asthma was misdiagnosed and you never had it. Then you would be good to answer no to "history of Asthma".

True. I'll ask her if I can do that before I leave for college.
