Lately i've began to notice that everybody either applying to the academy/ is in the academy, does multiple sports. Is that required? Or is only 1 okay? I know personally i play one sport (lacrosse) and that seems to take up so much time, that i don't see how it would be possible to do any more.

Quality, not quantity. If you are very involved in LAX, then you are fine. I did Taekwondo for 8 or so years by the time I entered the Academy. I never did any other sports. I will have my butterbars in less than a year. That's proof enough for me!

My guys fenced fenced fenced. They messed around with other sports but not on any official level (e.g.: saturday afternoon soccer - with other fencers, VoViNam - with other fencers, baseball - with other fencers). One sport is fine.

So does 8 years of football count? Or do they only count high school years? It seems that I have played football all my life.

Unless you talk about it in an essay, they will see your HS football, not your long-term football. Though, if you are good, its hard to become a great football player just during HS.

Depends. Is it important in your essay? Did football change your life or provide a major facet? Things to consider for your essay.

You could mention how you gained determination and character through the football program that you have had the opportunity to participate in throughout the the last 8 years of your life. Try to tie your experiences to lessons and traits that you have learned over the years. If football is one of those experiences, be sure to include it, and describe the impact that it has had on you.
