My DS recieved his letter from USNA stating he was selected for the waitlist. They are also requesting a school official to scan and email his most recent grades/transcripts to include the spring semester. Spring semester transcripts wont be available until the first week of June at the soonest. The letter also states that the admissions board will reconsider your application around the middle of May. Those dates dont line up very well and I was just wondering how everyone else was handling spring semester grades that made the waitlist. Thanks

Casbus - Your DS's school is on semesters so just gives 'official' grades 2 times/year, right? Same as my DS. Two suggestions:
1. Call admissions and see what they say give the situation.
2. Explain/have your DS explain the situation to his High School and see if your DS's school would consider giving 'preliminary' grades on a transcript - brackets around the grades or something with footnote or cover letter explaining that the final semester grades are estimates based upon grades thus far in final semester, or something like that. My DS's school gives 'estimated' IB grades for kids applying to international universities who then get a 'preliminary' acceptance pending receipt of IB test grades in July.

Thanks JShawshank and you are correct about being on semesters, DS sent an email to his admissions counseor and we just have not heard back yet. You gave some great advice on alternatives and I will keep anyone who has a DS/DD waitlister on semesters any answers we get from our USNA AC and school counselor.
