Someone can give a better explanation but I think Legacy means that they have a parent or some prior academy graduate family member who was in that squadron. My son is moving from 21 Blackjacks to 13 Bulldawgs. He is in the class of 2013 and in 13th squadron. Cool.
 
I believe it means a family member of the cadet's was in that squadron in the past so a current cadet can request to be put in that squadron.
 
Either a parent or a sibling that graduated from the Academy..

I'll be going into Viking Nine next year.
 
Thirteen was my freshman squad, and it was awesome. I wish I could go back :(

haha,

You move into your new squadron during the transition period after 3rd summer period. Eagle Eight was my freshmen squad and I went there a few times for some heritage training sessions so I'm sure i saw you dan lol.
 
very recently, I am in 2012, so it was last year

Haha...who knew. So I got trained by ya a couple times...fun stuff...lol!
