Squadron assignments are out. Someone said they will be divided into flights, but they don't have that yet. Can anyone explain what happens to the BCT squadron after A-day? Do they get to stay with their group or do they get moved around?

Read earlier posts in this thread concerning flights.

The basics/new cadets will transition into the academic year with their same squadron and flight members into the corresponding academic squadron as mentioned above

Once cadets are put into their academic squadron for the academic year do they remain in the same squadron all four years or does it change yearly?
 
Currently, they remain in their initial squadron for the first 2 years, then switch around for the last 2 years.
 
To answer a likely followup question...
Only cadets with parents that are USAFA grads can choose the squadron in which they want to be for the last 2 years.
 
I should clarify my last statement. The cadets of grads can choose one of their parent's old squadrons, not just any squadron. It's called legacy squadron.
 
I cannot believe with all the anticipation and excitement for squadron assignments, no one has posted their basic squadrons yet.

You are keeping us all in suspense; how cruel.:p

Would love to know who may end up in my DD's squadron as possibly her "trainee" since the 3 degrees are the new 4 degrees' coaches/mentors.
 
Alright! Finally.

Just heard their are 10 basic squadrons this year with 4 flights each. So now squadrons A thru J, flights A thru D each.
