Hi all,

I was surprised today when I received a package from my congressman with information on applying to service academies. I assume my district coordinator for West Point gave his office my name but either way I was happy to get it.

On the instructions sheet, aside from the letters of rec and the application itself, it says that I need to send official copies of standardized test scores to his office. Also, it reads that congressional codes are listed in the standardized test registration booklets, but I have been unable to find these codes listed in the SAT registration booklet.

I hope someone can direct me to the correct spot to find the congressional code I need.

Thank You

Go to your congressman's website. There, you should find a tab containing info for military members or veterans. You should be able to find the code there. Additionally, most reps have an academy application coordinator and their number should be in the same tab...give them a call.

and if you can't find it any other way call the congressman's office.... but BE SURE to do a thorough search first.

Did you try searching for it within the test sign up sight online? And using different words (ie: United States Military Academy VS Westpoint. Plugging in different words for your search. It should be in the testing source data base via searching).

Also just google their name and code. That should pop up too.

DS had this very problem yesterday - the codes weren't in the letter he was sent or on the MOC's website. He found the ACT when he did a search under 'Other Report Choices' when you select to send scores. SAT was harder to find, but it was under a search by state (some of the senators are found in their respective states; some when you search under D.C.). However, the MOC wanted it sent to their local office, so he ended up calling and ordering it be mailed to the local office. The local office told him to go ahead and print out a score report to also include in his packet, in the event it gets lost I suppose. Hope that helps!

Thank you all for the help!

Interestingly, I was able to find my senators on the college board “send scores” site but not my MOC. I figure that it just hasn’t been updated yet for my MOC (he is new to my district).

I think I’m just going to give it a couple weeks and if I am still unable to find my MOC on college board then I’ll contact the office.
