DD checked her portal and also saw that she received a nomination to USMA from Comstock. No letter or email yet, but she is pretty happy.

Yeah... no mail or email yet. I guess it's coming later. Good luck to your kid!!!

DS received a nomination from Rep Comstock VA-10 and has ROTC Nomination as well. Good luck to all. All great kids competing here. Our future is strong because of men and women like these young adults

That means he is in right? Congratulations!

I am not sure if this is directed to me...but we don't know yet...we just received the "official" notice of his medical waiver approval so we are hopeful this is the final step before appointment. Fingers crossed and praying...

My son got his rejection from Toomey yesterday explaining that they do not double nominate and since he got a nomination from our congressman that he will not be receiving another nomination.. .
My question is, out of PA 16 congressional districts, there will be 160 kids nominated through their congressman, so it seems that the senator is now picking from kids that weren’t in the top 160 in the state? Meaning no offense but this doesn’t seem right that a kid gets a higher spot by earining a principal nomination from a senator when they didn’t rank in the top 10 in their own district? Am I thinking through this wrong?
I know this is just the “way it is” but it’s defintiely a bit broken. I agree with sharing the wealth but I would think the senator should still be able to double nominate for the few couple of slots in their slate to ensure the most qualified kid gets a fair shot

Agreed...we got the same letter. My son has a LOA and received a nomination from Congressman Thompson.

I am not sure that your looking at this correctly. My son received a similar note from Senator Toomey's office and we did not interpret it as anything other than what it said. Our Congressman wanted to Nominate our son, the Senator's office coordinates with the MOC's, since he had an LOA, and an MOC nomination, there is no need for multiple nominations. The Senator may want to nominate certain kids and the MOC may send a note with a similar message.

Al Franken's office "postponed" interviews 3 days before when they were to happen. Now he's announced his upcoming resignation. His office isn't taking calls. Does anyone know what could/might become of the interviews and or nominations from his office?

I simply cannot imagine the angst you must feel at being 3 days away from a nomination interview and having it postponed because this clownshoe announced his resignation.
I hope that they will have someone step in and take care of it, for your sake. Especially if it's your 3rd interview and you don't have a nomination yet.
Thank you. As follow up, Franken announced the new Senator will start on Jan 2 and will handle the noms. Fortunately, DD received LOA so we're at ease now waiting for noms.
And DD received Congr. nom today so all is well.

Congrats on your DD’s nomination and LOA!

My DS is in the same boat waiting for Senator Tina Smith’s office to pick up where Franken left off, although he does not have an LOA. We haven’t heard anything about an interview date yet. It’s hard to know how patient to be since Smith just took office, but that January 31st deadline will come quickly.

My DS has a congressional nomination to USAFA. It showed up in his portal a few weeks ago, but there has been no contact from the MOC office. (Not sure if we are waiting for a phone call, email, or letter in the mail.)

It would be nice to at least have the opportunity to compete for Smith’s senate slate. We also haven’t heard anything from Senator Klobuchar’s office after the November interviews, but perhaps they are waiting to coordinate noms.

DD received a VA congressional nomination to USAFA yesterday to add to her list of nominations from Senator Warner and a presidential nomination. We are not sure if it is a Principle Nomination or not because she was left a voicemail from the congressman himself and he did not specify. The waiting game continues and yes I am handling it much worse than her!

Nope I didn't get an interview. I simply got an email that there were too many qualified applicants, and I wasn't chosen.

I had my interview on Dec. 1 for the nomination from Sen. Harris. Apparently, tomorrow is the last day I'd be notified.
