I haven't heard back from either senator and I've had interviews with both Senator Warren and Senator Markey

Yes. I was worried when I didn't see my nomination appear in my portal although I received a phone call saying I got a nomination to USMA. But then I remembered that it can take up to 3 weeks for information to be entered into our online portals

    MA 07

My congressman never sent out a letter announcing my nomination due to the fact that he lost his election and was unable to send out letters before his term ended. I did, however, receive a nomination to my three schools. USMA, USNA, and USMA. I also didn't have to go through the interview process with him which I thought was weird. I only found out about my nomination because I checked my portal one day and there was a nomination. I called the office to check in and they confirmed my nomination. I was really pleased to hear that my MOC thought I was too qualified to need an interview. Still waiting to hear back from Senators Warren and Markey. I went to interviews with both and still have yet to hear back.

I interviewed with Markey and Warren, and based on past years they should post the noms on the 31st.

My DS interviewed with both Markey and Warren. I'm guessing we'll hear something from those offices this week.

To all of the recent posters here from MA, Markey's nomination decisions have been made but they have not notified anyone yet. This is what a staffer told me during a phone call on Friday. I was told to call back Monday (tomorrow).

Though we are in California. But just curious to hear from some veteran posters/moderators on the forum, what could be the reason that after completing the interview process, MoC office does not submit the slate to academies till last day?
Also, I came across when MoC office submitted the slate to one academy as soon interviews were completed but not to other academies till last day? Why?

I was told by the MA senators that they hold off because they try to “spread the wealth.” At this point, it’s no use worrying about the reasons why it takes so long. We will all know in a few days anyway. Hang in there

I’m not entirely sure that is always true.

In NY ... Gillibrand had hers out early. As did our MOC.

Schumer waits until the end ... but he is extremely selective who he interviews. We know people with 1450 SATs with top academics ... one had an LOA to Naval, another had LOE to USMA (well rounded apps - great athletes and leadership etc). Neither got an interview with Schumer.

I cannot imagine Schumer interviews anyone that doesn’t already have at least one nom.

Hey, any news or are you holding off on calling them back? Just wondering if you had any info so far. Thanks

I actually did call, but the person in charge was unavailable. It’s only 3 more days. “Only.”

Ugh, three days seems like an eternity now. The wait for everything is killing me but its part of the process. Good luck to you!

Has anyone heard if South Carolina Senators made their nominations yet?

I’m waiting on that too and am yet to hear anything. In the past some have been notified around early February.

I received a nomination from Mark Sanford in December. I heard that Tim Scott didn’t give them until March. Being that I have an LOA, should I contact Tim Scott’s secretary to have my name pulled from the potential nominations? I don’t want to possibly take another candidates spot.

@Dangelo2023 All MOCs must submit their nomination slates by Jan 31st, which means if you do notify his office it should be soon.

DS got a nomination letter from Congressman Sanford a few months ago. He hasn’t heard back from Senator Scott or Senator Graham’s office but a YES under nomination appeared in his portal shortly after interviewing with Senator Scott and he hadn’t interviewed with anyone else at that point.

Last year, he got a letter in the mail, then his portal updated. Days before he got his letter, he heard of noms given to some of his friends, so he thought he wasn't getting one, but it turned out he got a P nom. This year, he got an email, then a letter in early December.
He is at the Prep School, so he had to apply for a nomination again this year. He will be with the Class of 2023!
