Has anyone heard anything from Senator Feinstein, Senator Harris, or their district representative? I had one interview and I have another this weekend, I'm just not sure when/if I should hear back. I'm applying to USNA but any input would be helpful. Thanks!
My son had Feinstein this past Sat., 30 min phone interview for USMMA, also had USAFA and USNA with Rep Garamendi, USMMA was by far the most difficult and challenging

I guess the title of this thread is pretty evident in what I am asking. Does anyone know when Senator Cornyn or Senator Cruz will send out nominations?

All indications are that it will be in December. Sen. Cruz's office pretty much said mid-December and they met some time ago. Sen. Cornyn board met last week.

I know they coordinate and our local congressman said we should hear something by the end of December

Ha, yes, lucky us but it’s something we can’t control. Couldn’t be more proud of my DS, no matter how this chapter of the journey plays out. He will be successful in whatever he sets his mind to doing. He has put his best application forward and we will see where the chips fall. From many of the stats I have seen posted here or there, he is pretty “average”. HOWEVER, there is NOTHING anywhere near average about any of the candidates that have posted their “stats”. They have all demonstrated significant achievement. Anyone willing to serve, no matter their stats or whether they attend a SA, recurved super high marks from me.

*receive....recurve autocorrect?!?!?!?!?

Are any of the Colorado families going to the joint Army/Navy alumni watch party in downtown Denver? We thought it might be fun to connect with any others also in the BIG WAIT!

So here’s a question I have been tumbling around in my head...for those states that are extremely competitive and where MOCs collaborate on nominations, how would they decide who the Senators would nom v the Congressional rep? Especially in light of the consensus of thought that a nom is a nom is a nom. Too much time to think as we wait I guess...any thoughts?

They all have their different processes and in most extremely competitive districts the representatives coordinate among each other. I know that in my state (MD which is competitive for USNA and USMA) the congressman will initially nominate candidates and then the senators will nominate other competitive applicants that may not have a nomination yet. That is typically why Senators wait until later on to post decisions.

Our DS received his NOM to USMA from Cruz yesterday via a call from a staffer. We are in TX-26. DS is 3Q and has an USMA LOA, so he is excited to be done (awaiting appointment). We were truly perplexed not to get a nom from Congressman Burgess, however, as our DS has multiple LOAs, and was hoping to have more time to decide between USNA and USMA. Our DS now has to attend the Blue and Gold dinner with no nom. This has truly been an odyssey, not unlike a 'camel' (a horse designed by a committee).

Did Burgess' office release their nominations yet? I was under the impression that they have not been released. If not yet announced, then it is quite possible that your DS would receive a USNA nom from Burgess and the two offices would have talked to avoid doubling up on USMA.
