State of the Corp

Anyone hear from your cadet (or cadets on this forum) that the state of morale in the Corp of Cadets is pretty low right now? Talked to my Yuk yesterday and he said morale is pretty low, lower than this time last year for sure. Frustrated that several old traditions have been taken away, and more focus on things that do not bring anything positive to the Corp. He is fine with things being tough, but, at least keep the old traditions that build camaraderie and morale. Interested in hearing others thoughts and experiences.

Just curious, what old traditions were taken away?

Not sure how "old" the traditions that my son was looking forward to that they dropped are. He said there was no Plebe gauntlet after Marchback like they had for his class. He was also looking forward to getting his Plebe a welcome to the Company gift like he also got (I know this isnt a longstanding tradition, but something as a Team Leader to give their Plebe they looked forward to.) Changes to Company Sandhurst he said arent as Team building as last year. Changes to which uniforms are worn when, which might be getting back to the way things used to be. I'm sure a part of it is being a very difficult academic time of year, missing the little things are felt a lot more deeply.

I will ask him for specifics, but not sure when I will hear back from him, its been a very busy semester so far.
