Scanning the 2017 appointment thread, it appears that there are 28 states from which no one has yet reported an appointment. See the list below. From what I gather, the admissions board moves through the process by slates within states. Could it be that these 28 states have yet to come before the board?

Has anyone heard of a nomination from MA as of yet? That's where we live, and DS is starting to sweat a bit.

Here is the list that is excluded from the appointment thread, as of 1/18. By no means scientific or even statistically valid, but here it is.

Only Principal Noms appointed to date

I would assume, since the application deadline has not yet been reached, that only qualified candidates with Principal nominations have been appointed to date and further that it will remain that way until the application deadline. There may be some LOAs with a nom who have received appointments as well.

I wouldn't read anything more into your list than that.

Agree. Also, the individuals reporting on this site do not necessarily represent all of those who have received appointments.

take OH off your list... know of several fully qualified offers in one quadrant

Everyone applying doesn't necessarily participate on this forum, so not sure what type of conclusions you could draw from your analysis. An easier way to look at this is found on the official USNA website.

"Most candidates will be notified of their final status by April 15."

Since today is January 20......more appointments are still being issued.

I know this 'tain't funny for those sweating out these cold months of waiting, hoping, praying, etc. ...

But looking at suddensam's list and recalling the need to produce such odd things ... well, it brought both a chuckle and agonizing flashbacks. :welcome:

This might be liked to the anticipation of Christmas ... if there was any modest assurance Santa would bring that Red Ryder BB gun! :thumb:

Stay the course, keep the faith, listen for "click click click" up on the roof top ... and keep a path cleared to the mailbox.

And don't fritter away in wasted worry of something that you've done all you can do to effect the outcome. Enjoy what should be one of the better semesters of your life-long learning.

Do you suppose the deadline of April 15th is coincidence?:rolleyes::shake: How's it go? The government giveth. The government taketh away. Here's to robust refunds and BFEs!:beer1::rockon:

You can cross NH off the list; myself and my classmate were appointed on January 3

We had a total of 44 from GA in my class. Other states with a lot of mids are Texas,Cali, just the south in general, NY, NJ, and PA. This is just from my personal experience and from people I have heard from.

You can cross Ohio off the list as well. I received an offer of appointment last week.

I got my nom already and I'm from MA

I'm aware of many nominations from MA. The question was about appointments. Have you been appointed, and if so, were you a principal nomination and/or did you have an LOA from the Naval Academy?

I am from MA, was a principal nominee and received an appointment. Did not have an LOA

Did you receive a principal from Sen. Kerry? Wondering how he does his slate. Thanks! And best of luck!

No I was actually a principal for my congressman. I received a nomination from both Brown and Kerry. Kerry's just came in yesterday in the mail. His was later than the others.

Due to my principal nomination, however, I called the office of Scott Brown and asked if it were possible to give back my nomination so that another candidate could use it. They said they could not due to the nomination slate already being submitted.

I was surprised with Kerry's nomination because I had already been appointed by the time I received it. I will call his office as well. Confusing sort of.

I guess I only read this section.

I have applied to both senators and my congresswoman for a nomination. Senator Brown notified me early on that he wasn't able to nominate me, because I already had received one which turned out to be from my congresswoman long before I was notified. I am currently in the Foundation program and will find out in early April of this year about my appointment.
