How does one interpret this? ROTC appears to change AFTER the review where Academy appears the opposite. Can you get a waiver for one but not the other?

US Navy ROTC
Admission Status Change Date: 14-FEB-2008
Current Medical Status: Pending Waiver Submission/Review (as of 30-JAN-08 )

US Naval Academy
Admission Status Change Date: 14-JAN-2008
Current Medical Status: Pending Waiver Submission/Review (as of 13-FEB-08 )

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but the admission status (first line you quoted) and medical status dates can change in either order. The most recent admission status change date is most likely the date on which your candidate was either accepted or rejected academically for admission (in my daughter's case, her NROTC scholarship offer date, or USNA LOA date). Prior to those decisions, I think the admissions status date reflected the date her application was final, but I'm not sure.

The medical status date can change when either DoDMERB or a waiver activity takes an action (pass, DQ, remedial request, waiver, etc.).

Today being Feb 17, and the two most recent dates shown are Feb 13 and Feb 14, should some new news be anticipated? Or was that the news?

Definitely not NROTC scholarship offer date-Jan 7 or USNA LOA date-January 11. We're in a waiver and/or qualification status situation.

I read that the DODMERB web site has been having IT issues for a while, causing the dates to roll.

Many other candidates have reported this issue, having seen their Admission Status Change Date move forward without any explanation, in some cases multiple times without any real change.

I wouldn't read too much into it.

This could be any number of things. The admissions status date is submitted to DoDMERB by the admissions office, DoDMERB has no control over that date. The NROTC date change could have come about due to the applicant sending in the NROTC scholarship acceptance card, which changes the admissions status from "Offered" to "Accepted", or it could have been an internal date change at NROTC that was passed to DoDMERB. USNA's date will change when the applicant goes from an "Inprocess" status to "Offered" or "Accepted" status.

As for a waiver being granted for one and not the other, it can happen, most often if the waiver is granted for one it will be granted for the other and the same for a waiver denial.
