Status change from Pending to Under Review

Son is a junior (AROTC) who has a pending waiver. Status just changed from pending to "under review." Any experience/insight into timing & what happens next? His ROTC contact at school is focused on the contracting ceremony this weekend, & seems to not have any sense of when a decision could be made. Appreciate any thoughts...trying to stay positive here
