I learned today, thru the portal, that my status has changed to USNA-Conditional Offer (LOA). I am uncertain, at the moment (did not receive a letter), what the condition is, but believe it could be a shell fish reaction I had when I was 9. My DODMERB status still reads "Under Waiver Review". I did provide to DODMERB a skin test and oral challenge test (results both negative). So for now I am uncertain and still nervous, humbled and excited. I truly prepared myself for the last two years, both mentally and physically for this and had great guidance from three men who all have either instructed at the academy or graduated from the academy. I am thankful for their support along with the posters of this forum. I do not post much, but do read often. I do understand the appointment has not been offered, I will continue doing what I do to prepare and will wait to hear what my next steps are. If anyone wants to provide insight on my status, please do - any and all information is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

No letter in the portal? No conditions listed?

If both are "No," answers ........ congrats ...... your appointment is imminent. This was something that happened a lot last year (and some this cycle). Right before an offer was made, their portals changed to LOA, without any conditions to be met.

If there are conditions, do whatever you need to respond to the requests.

You may want to call Admissions in a few days, if an actual letter doesn’t specify the condition, to confirm it is medical. Then more waiting and hanging on to that nice ray of LOA hope.

No Sir. No letter or conditions. Just a status change. Thank you for your insight.

I have already emailed my Admissions Field Advisor to give some detail as to any condition. Thank you for your advice.

I got an LOA in October and the same thing happened to me, you will get an email on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday. If you don't get an email, I would call.

The conditions of the LOA are probably ones of "receive a nomination", "pass medical". If you have these together and there are check marks then you should receive an appointment but until then they will need to be satisfied. If they have "X" on them then they're still needed. Good luck and hopefully it means a positive outcome soon. They don't send a physical letter anymore, they will only provide an email.

DD received a LOA last week that sounded very similar. Admissions sent her an email that looked like a form letter. Here's the relative info from the letter:

"Please remember that your guaranteed offer of appointment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of all the remaining requirements for admission. To view the status of your application file and a list of your remaining Required Actions, please log into the Candidate Information System. "

She failed the medical through DoDMERB, and is also under waiver review. I am assuming she is currently going through the waiver process. Sounds like you are in the same boat! I told DD, no matter what happens with the waiver, she should always hold her head up high that she did everything within her control to earn an appointment to the Naval Academy.

Interestly enough, I did not get a letter.

Thank you for the information.
