Is anyone else's status still 3Q, but with no appointment or TWE?? It's 10 May. What the heck? If they are not going to select him, why not TWE at this late hour?

Has he followed up with his RC? There are always a few people that may get offered as others decline or do not pass medical, etc. I think it was @tug_boat who explained the waiting list and process in a recent post. Everyone goes there when they are 3Q. As they make offers and it becomes very unlikely they will receive an offer TWEs start to go out. I would guess that for some reason your DD is still on the border line of getting an appointment. Your RC is the only person who can tell you for sure. If your RC is not very open, your local FFR may be able to get some information.

Yes he followed up with RC who said it's not known for certain at this point but believes DS will probably be QNS . That was 2 weeks ago still no twe. Yes I saw the wait list post. My DS did not receive that explicit correspondence indicating he was on the waitlist.

That is one of the slight differences between the academies. He wouldn't necessarily get a communication that says he is on the waitlist. All candidates who are 3Q are placed on the waitlist and then either offered appointment or QNS at some point in the process.

I understand the waiting is awful, but based on the feedback from your RC, it his highly unlikely that he will be offered a spot in this year's class. I would change Plan B to Plan A and start getting ready for next year.

The day of reckoning arrived: After two attempts, DS2 will move on to his second plan "a" school--Georgetown--which has become his plan "a" over the last several months. Accepting a spot in the Georgetown class of 2021 is not a consolation prize. DS2 will go to school in his preferred town, balance a civilian college experience with ROTC and attend a top notch school. DH and I are excited for him. Things happen for a reason; we are convinced that God's plan for DS2 does not include WP. Hoya Saxa!

Someone told us that maybe our sons plan B, was Gods plan A :)
Good luck, God bless and the best wishes for your son and family as you begin this journey~

Hoya Saxa, indeed! Georgetown...NOT a back up school. Great ROTC program. Your boy will love it.

Portal update or email, both? Still nothing here.

@MichUSNA2021hopefulparent ... I am trying not to bother you--and figure you will let all of us know when your son hears something. Praying...again...if he gets the call the day before R-Day (D-1), you put him on the plane to Newark or Stewart and I volunteer to pick him up and drive him to USMA on my way in...

DS got TWE from USMA today.
So sorry to read this. But when one door shuts - there's an open window that will lead your son in the direction that he is intended to go. So trust fate; advise your son to live his life to the fullest, and not to look in the rearview mirror. He is not heading in that direction. Wishing your son the best college experience---ever!
