STEM acceptances?

According to the USNA admissions Facebook page, people have been notified that they were accepted. I have not read of anyone on Facebook nor here that have said they've been accepted.

I bet that the sequester has had some affect on the program, maybe pushing back the acceptance notices?

Some have been mailed, others will hear back in April (or later maybe, depending on the sequester).

I doubt the sequester did much to the admissions. I think they mailed them out and are waiting before sending any more out. It is on a rolling admissions basis and I applied on the first day so I assume not many people were invited yet.

Wow, no one has heard anything yet? It is only a few weeks before the deadline they said most will be notified on Facebook.

My daughter received her acceptance to STEM about 3 weeks ago via email. She is a rising 9th grader though, so perhaps that is why she heard so quickly.

RE: STEM

Jason,

My DS is a Rising Sophomore and has not heard anything yet as well.

MD, DC, VA?

My rising 8th grader has applied for the summer STEM program and is waiting for the acceptance letter. Does anyone know if being from the MD, DC, VA area puts applicants at a disadvantage since the website puts an emphasis on geographical representation?

Thanks!
