I made a previous thread about contacting my NROTC selection school, Virginia Tech, about potentially getting off the waitlist for the school. I called, let the secretary know my situation, and said she'd get me in touch with the LT. Never came through. Before this, I shot him an email and left him a voicemail. Weeks went by so I tried again with no answer. I'm assuming most of this has to do with COVID - 19, so I don't know where to go from here. Called admissions as well but said they would not be able to help... Any advice?

You've requested advice. Honestly it is not clear if you want NROTC, a bit confusing why you are pushing for help from their cadre. From prior posts, you appear to have stated that you have higher-to-you interests in-hand and are pursuing other choices. You've been accepted to KP (King's Point, the Merchant Marine Academy). Your "number one choice" is Navy and you're awaiting decisions on your remaining SA applications or if not may want NAPS/ prep school . You seem to imply a visit during spring break would have sealed it for you at KP, had the world not tilted off it's bearing. But you're pushing for VT NROTC to help you with admissions. You are free to change your mind at any time of course - "that's your prerogative". Just don't waste their time if you aren't going there (please).

Assuming as fact that you actually want to use your National NROTC scholarship/ then there is nothing wrong with asking a ROTC unit for support. You've asked VT- a couple different ways. The silence in response was deafening if you listen for it. But now, like in Frozen recommend you "Let it go".

Pushing the Navy for urgency isn't often fruitful. recommend doing so rarely. My DS did it with his NROTC recruiter when he kept dropping the ball, as we believe DS would not have gotten his application finalized otherwise- now DS is living his dream. But that's an exception to a rule. today, NROTC midshipmen and future midshipmen "really" want to know about summer plans - NSI, Cortramid, Summer Cruises. Most midshipmen have not not asked once. A few are pestering their units or future units for details daily - the unit or Big Navy will tell the midshipmen when they are ready to do so. So goeth updates from big navy that the midshipmen perhaps would ideally in their minds like sooner. they wait, and adapt.

Good luck. Hope you are clear to yourself what you want for university, get it and Fly Navy. Thanks for your willingness to serve.

Today, Hokie Focus was virtual and we watched a bunch of it including the Corp of Cadets presentation. The LTC said they are not in the office and the best way to contact them is corp@vt.edu. Best to you.

Really appreciate this, however, I tried using the email address provided but it would not allow it. Not sure if this is the correct address. Anyway I could look into this further?

I appreciate your response. I’m trying my best to navigate what route is best for me, and trying to keep as many doors open as possible. I haven’t settled on anything, but a huge part of me wants to attend VT and then reapply to USNA if I receive a TWE. I’ve been told by numerous sources that having no interest in a maritime career means KP isn’t right for me. All roads can lead to the same place - that being a naval aviator, but I’m finding it difficult to choose which one as the cards begin to fall. For that reason, I feel if that door to VT is open with a scholarship, why not take it, reapply to USNA and if I don’t get in, i’ll still be called ensign after four years. My parents have a different perspective, but this has been something i’ve thought about a lot the past month or so.

I would advise my own, in your situation, to also have a plan C. There is no guarantee of a pilot slot, either. A wise poster here says 'sometimes you have to make a choice based upon the info available and don't look back'. Sometimes one can also overthink something to death. Good luck to you!!
