Still no medical examination

To my knowledge, NAPS and Foundation require a candidate be medically qualified for an appointment (someone correct me if I'm wrong). No nomination is required for either program.
Im not sure if this was directed to me but I did receive a nom from MOC (11th district NJ)

I recognize this waiting is extraordinarily difficult, but to reiterate the advice given so often here, do not look left or right at other candidates, especially with regard to LOAs. You will only add to your frustration. You cannot see the totality of their application or know what class-building strategies are being employed by Admissions. You want to be evaluated on everything you bring to the table, not just numerical stats, so relieve yourself of the burden of comparison with others by granting the same grace to others. It is fruitless to compare on one narrow stat. There will always be more fully qualified, outstanding candidates with a nomination(s) than there is room for in the class.

If it indeed comes to pass you are not offered an appointment, and this is the path you want for a commission, then you gather feedback on where you can improve, execute your alternate plan, prepare to re-apply with no looks backward and a positive attitude.
I am ready for plan b, I am enlisting in the Marine Corps and re-applying as a prior-enlisted if I get rejected. Also, in regards to the comment above, are my chances extremely slim at this point?

Respectfully, there is more that goes into an application then just GPA. There are athletics, leadership roles, interviews, CFA, community service hours, ACT/SAT, course rigor, class rank, etc. Have you tried emailing your admissions counselor? They would have the most accurate answer.
Yes, and just like I said above they all tell me the same thing. "You will be contacted by DODMERB if our admissions board sees you as a competetive applicant for USNA or its prep programs."

I have no way of answering that question accurately, I am sorry.

I have seen several posts mentioning that if you go to college, join ROTC ( whether contracted or not) and take a plebe like course load, you have more thing in your control to have a solid application for next year. Going enlisted route may not have lot of things under your control. Maybe someone can share more info on that.

There is sticky at the top of the page with really good advice about reapplying.

Yes I have had a lot of info shared with me about being a college re-applicant rather then enlisted. However, I generally don't think that civilian college is for me and the financial cost that comes with it. With that being the case, I don't want to run the risk of having to go through a year of college and possibly be rejected again and have to finish the rest of college which is something I am just not interested in now.

Sounds like you're making the right decision, then. USNA is college, with a lot of extras heaped on top.

We visited our Mids over Easter. One night, a company mate attended and guess what? He did EXACTLY what you are planning to do. And we talked for an hour about it. All was very encouraging! Every year, there are slots for this route that go unused (I have heard presentations about it myself...from Army and Air National Guard, but same concept).

If you are interested, and you ultimately receive a TWE, PM and I can see about connecting you with this Mid. He knew so much about it and it was so interesting. Also, he is one of the most respected and liked in his company. If this becomes your journey, know that the experience you will garner from your time will add TREMENDOUSLY to your company. Make you a popular Mid!! This guy was great. Enriched my own life! And countless others including my youngest and his mates. They were glued to his stories.

Hang in there. It’s not over ‘til it’s over. And even then.....still not over. Just different 🌟

Thank you very much for your input. If a TWE comes in I will give you a PM. Thanks again

I have my Medical Qualification on the Dodmerb site, but on the USNA portal it says not received. Wondering what this meant?

I second this. Our plebe has a company mate who did four years in the fleet and got in right at the age out time. He is such an asset to the mids in his company. I would also be willing to try to put you in touch with them privately.

So I completed my medical examination awhile back for a different service academy/ROTC scholarship. As of right now USNA has not added an application on the DoDMerb portal unlike the other service academies and on the USNA portal it says "Medical Examination not received." I've contacted my admissions counselor about this periodically and he keeps telling me that DoDMerb is backed up which I believe without a doubt due to the current circumstances. Is this happening to anyone else? I'm starting to get very nervous. Nervous in a sense that USNA maybe did not add an application for me on DoDMerb because I may not be competitive.

Go right to the source and ask USNA Admissions. You can use their Admissions chat sessions-available twice each day for most days.

I’m in this exact situation here. I’ve ask USNA Admissions chat, but they’ve given me the same exact answer as everyone else: “once you are deemed competitive, you will be...”.

This is an interesting route. Did they just do that for 1 year while re-applying?

You can find some here. This is for AF, but it’s all similar. The LEAD program.

It’s a risky route, imo! was suggesting it to Poster be he/she said they planned to enlist if a TWE is received, as the DIDNT want to go to regular college. One would have to realize they are in listed if they don’t receive ever receive an appointment offer. They would have a contract to fulfill.
