Hey guys,
Well, I've received two nominations and my admissions officer at the Academy has told me that they've ranked me already. I was wondering if you guys knew why I was still waiting, and when it's possible that I might hear back. I know this is a common question, so thanks for any input.

Unless you are the "perfect" candidate, I hate to tell you: you may wait until May.

There are no guarantee's and your ALO will tell you that. As an ALO, I can tell you we don't know when our candidates will "be the one selected" or not. We have our "ideas" based upon past experiences however...each candidate is different.

So...patience. If you're to be selected, you will be.

Yep...sucks to hear that doesn't it! I know it too. But it's reality. Your ALO telling you that you've already been "ranked" tells me that you have completed the entire application process and that your "weighted composite score" has been computed.

However...there is no "if he/she has this number or better, they're offered an appointment" line. EACH appointee is different. There is a "range" typically, but the cycle is still too young for me (I've been an ALO for 15 years) to have a good "feel" for what it's going to take this year.

The GOOD news is: you haven't gotten anything that says "sorry..." so you're still in the the hunt!!! :thumb:

Keep the faith!!!

Hang in there, bud. I started to get worried when I hadn't heard anything in early/mid March when appointments for my buddies started rolling in, but sure enough, it came at the end of March. That timespan is when the vast majority of people around here got their appointments - so be patient and try to relax and enjoy your freedom before next year.

Thanks so much for the input, and, yes, I'm trying to be as patient as I can. I'll just keep my fingers crossed, and will hopefully enjoy the rest of the semester.
