I’m a first year doing AROTC at a senior military college
I was actually in AFROTC but switched into AROTC after my first semester. I did my dodmerb some time ago and the results have finally come back.
On the dodmerb website it says one disqualification and under Airforce it’s listed as pending waiver/reviewing. For army, it just says under review. I’m already disenrolled from airforce so I’m not sure if anything is going to come of that, but I am extremely worried I’m going to get disqualified from army. I mean if I already got disqualified from airforce that requires a waiver, wouldn’t the same thing happen with the army? Is there somewhere I could check the surgeries that disqualify me because the medical codes on the website are concerning specific medical conditions and not so much surgeries.
My disqualification is strabismus exotropia which is eye misalignment. In the event I do need a waiver, I’m pretty confused by how they work. I checked the FAQs on the Dodmerb website and they’re basically saying my ROTC will request one and send me to more evaluations. If this is the case, I never received any news to get checked up when I got disqualified from the airforce.
I understand how a thread might not be the best place to answer my questions but right now the cadre at my school are on winter break and I don’t really have anyone to ease my mind until my dodmerb results come back for army. I guess I just wanted to hear some anecdotes if you or a friend were in a similar situation. Any insight is welcome.
Thank you.
