Suggestions For Improvement

I may have missed it, but I do not see much school leadership. Academies want to see involvement is school activities and leading in those activities. Student council, etc. Also Girls State will be a must when the time comes.
I agree. I am trying to start a Tennis Club, and if that works out I will be President, but I have not heard anything on Girls State yet. I will look for more leadership opportunities. Thank you for the advice !

You need to be careful...if you self-studied two years of Math but only have an 1190 did you learn all the math you needed?

I might have missed it but I didn't see a score breakdown of English/Math within the score. For instance, it could easily be a 650M/540E and, while a 650M might not be competitive in some districts, it is well within what is probably "enough" to handle a STEM curriculum. I teach at a Technical University and have had discussions about the level of Math scores needed to survive our curriculum. Different professors have their own targets but 650 would not be an issue with any that I've seen.

I am working hard to prepare for the second PSAT I will take in a couple weeks. I know my score could have been higher, but I am confident that if I prepare for this test I can improve this score. Thank you for the advice, and yes I feel that I have learned all the math I need.

An 1190 PSAT roughly equates to a 1300 SAT. This was also as a sophomore and without studying/preparing. I think folks are overestimating the severity of that data point.
Thank you! I am working to get my score on my second PSAT up, and hopefully studying will reflect in my score. I appreciate your conversion to a rough SAT score - Thanks again !

Thank you ! I am working to make my second PSAT as competitive as possible, especially for the Math. I started Khan Academy yesterday, thanks again!

Why are you taking a 2nd PSAT? I assume it is through the school, so no harm in taking it and any practice helps. But, I dont think there is anything 'competitive' about boosting PSAT score for an SA application, versus focusing on the actual SAT

I can't speak for her, but I assume it has something to do with wanting to improve her score for the SS/SLE applications. She probably won't have a March SAT score back within the deadline, but they do accept PSAT scores and she will most likely have a score back for that within the deadline.

My brother retook his and improved his score. Better collages sent them their pamphlets. He got one from west point. I think improving it does help.

Just figured it would be a great way to practice SAT form in that setting and just incase the SAT gets cancelled I will have a study score

I really need some help here.I am a 10th grader who has a 22 composite score on the ACT.
I took this last summer JULY 2020
22 composite
17 math
21 science
23 english
26 reading
I am looking for some free prep since I am on a limited budget.
My GPA is high and I am CAP cadet 2nd LT so the act is my only weak area.

WHAT ACT SCORES WOULD GET ME AN ARMY ROTC SCHOLARSHIP?
Hi! I'm not completely sure - I am not super familiar with the ACT scoring and test in general. Studying doesn't hurt though. I would really focus on maintaining your GPA, and trying to bring your score up. Your still in 10th grade, you have some time. Math is arguably the most important section looked at, so narrow in on what your got wrong. There is always room to improve, and places like West Point/Army are looking to see how well you can improve your scores and be a well-rounded candidate. CAP is great, I wish I had done that! I hope this could help you.

Would KHAN academy help for math? They only have SAT prep but I’ve heard that it is beneficial for ACT.

I don't see why not - any practice is beneficial. There may be a better alternative for ACT specific questions - not sure though.

.
Yes .... create an account on KahnAcademy today. Do the SAT practice Profile testing to establish a baseline. It will taylor study specifically for you.

Use KahnAcademy right now for daily Math/Verbal practice. Do the 3 or 4 sections of practice daily, then do the 11-15 question quiz afterwards each day .... No exceptions. ACT and SAT math/verbal questions are very similar.

Get a book of SAT/ACT practice exams (Old Tests). Do one of those every 2 weeks. You should be able to get a hold of 10+ old tests.
