Can anyone, shed some light as to when we are likely to find out what our CL 2020 DD's summer schedule is going to look like?

I am not looking for a specific date, but DD says she dosen't know when she will learn what her schedule will look like, or when she will be home.

I am OK with the uncertainty, but my wife has been up on travel sites recently. Occasionally she looks up at me and I will see her lips moving. I'd like to know when I need to start hearing her.

Thanks

I think they are supposed to know by spring break. But info comes from my plebe DS so take it for what it is.

@Just Dad, did DD submit her choices for zero to third blocks, and requested a specific one for leave?

The only info I have is that she put in for "summer seminar" which I think is block#1? Re: other choices, or a specific request for leave, I have no idea.

I am on a plane headed East for work on Friday. Gonna drop by for the Army-Navy BBall game, and spend the weekend with her. Your post gives me a more refined line of questioning.

Thanks to you and Brawny

And please keep a thought in the back of your head that once she gets told her blocks and dates, they can change. Not usually, but operational events can impact schedules with a daisy-chain impact. Some of her classmates will fail Calc or Chem or both. They will be put in Block 1 Summer School, most likely. That means whatever they requested for Block 1 might now have open spots and require getting the numbers back up, and classmates will be swapped in. Let's hope your DD is not on the academic ouch end of that scenario!

Yes. Summer Seminars are in Block One and your DD has put in to be a detailer. Hope she gets it.

Safe travel! Enjoy the games and time with DD!!!

+1 .....always keep this in mind. Nothing is written in stone, and things frequently change. Semper Gumby (always flexible) ! is a good motto.

There is even a patch and a Keep Calm poster! :)

2020 Mid here.

We submitted our preferences earlier this year.

"Per schedule", we are supposed to be notified of our surface cruise assignments by Spring Break .

Our official schedules may not even finalize until April because it is dependent on the Fleet and other variables.

That being said, Block 0 trainings are slightly rare. Most trainings take place from Blocks 1-3.

There will be changes and changes and changes. You kever know until it happends. Welcome to the military! LOL

Last year DS's summer block schedule was pretty much firm by spring break and we planned for him to be home for 3rd block vacation. At the end of the semester he sustained a spiral fracture that required surgery and it seemed likely that his entire summer schedule would change. DS did a good job downplaying the surgery - if you see a photo of a NASS detailer with a blob of a bandaged left hand, that's probably him. The surgery went well and his summer block schedule happened as planned. Keep Calm and Semper Gumby!
