Summer Seminar 2012

Just got accepted to the SS for Session B. I am so excited to go and cannot wait. Has anyone else heard from them and is anyone else attending Session B.
 
Just got my email...not selected. ::sigh::, it said that there were just too many people and not enough slots to accommodate others. Oh well, hoping my application for class of 2017 to the USAFA fairs better.

DS was not selected for summer seminar 2 years ago. He is currently at USAFA. He did attend the SAME Construction Camp instead. See http://samecamps.org/ for more info. Feel free to PM me with questions.

Thank you! I'll take a look at it later on today. Also, I think I have hope now knowing that summer seminar won't greatly affect chances of getting into the Academy. I know now though that it's best to apply earlier (I applied one month after it opened), and I need to start working harder to get in.

By the way, I've been seeing it around these threads, but what does "DS" and "DD" mean?

I know two people that have been denied already, so I'm thankful that I'm still alive. The admissions department said that it could be April before some people hear back, so it looks like we may have quite a long way to go for a definitive answer. That being said, it sounds like they've began cutting people. Both of the denials I speak of have visited the Academy before, so I'd say that if you've ever been, a denial is in your future; the common theory, and it is ONLY a theory, is that they are catering the program to people who have never been while still remaining on a competitive basis. (i.e. if you've ever been before, you're denied and if you haven't, than it's still competitive as usual.)

Again, this is just the theory I've heard floating around. I wouldn't exactly trust it or stress over it. Good luck to you! Hopefully I'll see you there!

I've been to the Academy twice and I was accepted to the Summer Seminar this summer..
