I thought I would make a thread for Summer Seminar Acceptances and rejections, so hopefuls next year could know where they stand. So when those emails go out(could be any day now), let’s list ourselves on this thread. I was thinking this format:

(Username) // (Accepted/Rejected) // (State) // (SAT/ACT) // (GPA and Class rank) // (Extracurriculars)

good luck to all! Hopefully I will be listing myself as accepted! If this thread gets lost because emails don’t come out for a bit, I will post again.

Thank you for doing this! It's 2/21/20 (one day past the 2/20 date acceptances went out last year) and it's a Friday which some theorists say is when waves go out. Still no word for anyone? My inbox is so far empty. Sigh.

Not a word. I emailed my liaison officer because I just made a change to my profile(got into boys state), and she said that the apps have been reviewed.n

My son applied and also nothing so far. He kind of takes things in stride and has 3 summer programs he is waiting to hear back on. It's me who is stressed as I am trying to plan out the summer. LOL

You sound like my mom! LOL. Good luck to your son. I should be studying in study hall right now, but I can't help but check my emails and this website!

I looked at the FAQ's on the USAFA SS website and it said we should have our decisions in the first week in March

I thought that’s the latest date though
Like others have said, 2019 offers went out February 20th, even though the application said beginning of March. Deadline to accept the offer was March 6th, two weeks after the offers made on 2/20.
Good luck!

Just a note for you SS hopefuls- SS is more of a recruiting tool than anything else, so stats like ACT/SAT, GPA, etc may not be super relevant. You can have an awesome package, but if USAFA is pretty sure you'll be interested no matter what and you are in a majority demographic, you may not get in. This has NO bearing on your eventual USAFA application.

IMHO your academic statistics and resume etc do not weigh very heavily upon your acceptance to summer seminar. When I was accepted I had a GPA of less than 3.2 and had not yet taken an SAT or ACT. Although, I did have high quality leadership experience.

Not to mention your scores/grades are all self-reported. While I know it’s fun to see stats, I think it just leads to more confusion.

Same here. Lots of Extracurriculars and Leadership experience in addition to numerous awards on national level. However my GPA at the time was around a 3.3. I was waitlisted (I was expecting immediate rejection due to my academics not being the greatest) therefore I’m not sure Academics and Test scores are the biggest components. They do help however, yet as mentioned before it is more of a recruiting/outreach tool

Does anyone know if there is a point of checking the candidate portal multiple times per day for SS acceptance? Does it only update in the morning or could they send out acceptances in the afternoon?

You will get an email telling you to check your portal.

Kennewick // Accepted // Washington // PSAT:1450 // 4.0;1of428 // Swim team captain, Varsity track and field, and other jv sports and school clubs

Good luck to all of you guys!!

Accepted/ Pennsylvania/ PSAT:1060///4.0 class rank 1 out of 90/// volleyball, basketball and varsity captain, softball, and 6 school clubs

Accepted/New York/Did not submit any test scores/4.0 weighted (3.7 unweighted), not sure of class rank I would estimate top 25% of my class which has 737 students/ Varsity Field Hockey, USA futures field hockey, US Naval Sea Cadets, 1 school club, volunteer work at two animal shelters, no job/work experience.

*My application was not that strong in my opinion because I didn't have any test scores to report, no job experience, only play 1 sport and only 1 school club. I am honestly surprised that I was accepted.
