Summer Seminar App and Class Rank

So with the NASS application opening on Thursday I ran into a question that perhaps someone on this forum can answer. If the NASS application is anything like the STEM app it is going to ask for class rank. When I say that my school doesn't rank students it still wants me to put in a rank... I have no idea what to do. The best my guidance counselor could give me was that I was in the top ten percent of my class, but he couldn't give me a specific rank, they just don't do that... Any ideas or any candidates/parents/MIDN/Alumni that can answer my question?

Thank you so much!

I'd say that is a great question to post on the Naval Academy Admissions Facebook page under the current discussion about NASS SAT/ACT/PSAT scores. I'm sure you will get a response either today or tomorrow.

If you previously applied to STEM, I would expect the same procedures to be used, but I would either post the question or call Admissions once the application opens up.

Seems to me you've already received the best information you'll be able to get to properly complete your NASS app if it allows you to indicate "top 10%" type answers. This is a common issue, discussed regularly ad nauseum on STEM and on candidacy apps.

Your thinking and anticipating what might be is admirable, showing maturity to the degree "what if" doesn't rule your life. Look ahead without worrying too much about hypotheticals. This one strikes me as worthwhile wondering.

Best wishes.
