Hello.
Are there any junior who plan on going this year? And what part of the country are you guys from? I'm in Los Angeles, CA. Hope to see you guys there!

Just outside Barksdale AFB in Shreveport,LA. Will be submitting my application on the 1st also.

cool. just wondering, which test scores are you gonna submit (psat, sat, act)?

Yeah, I'll be applying to Summer Seminar, too. I live in Texas. I'm going to submit my PSAT scores, I haven't taken the SAT or ACT yet.

Hi, I would like to apply as early as possible also but am wondering if anyone knows if you can give PSAT scores from 10th grade or if the 11th grade scores are required. My school doesnt get the PSAT scores back until about mid-december.

I will probably apply with my ACT scores (hopefully I can superscore from 2 different testing dates)

from SC district 6

I want to check out most of the academies since they are all very competitive for appointments (currently leaning towards the sea services but may change my mind) .

navy2016. same here. im leaning towards annapolis as well.

i think i might just wait for my psat scores to come out for this year. i have a feeling i did well on them, especially math.

I'm from Minnesota, and I'm planning on applying! Just wondering though, I'm taking the ACT on December 11th for the first time. Do you think I should wait to get those scores back and submit it or should I just go with my PSAT/PLAN test scores? I'm not sure if you apply earlier are they more likely to accept you?

But anyways hope to see you all there!!

What if you do not have any scores yet? I just took the PSAT in october..and my scores do not come in until mid december. Am I able to start the application? I am trying to submit as early as possible  Also,do they look at full highschool transcripts,or just the past semester? my Cumulative gpa should rise plenty after this semseters 5.0.. Thanks:smile:

What do I do if the dates conflict with school and Girls State? Would you say Girls State is more important to go to or Summer Seminar? And also is it worth missing school for?

You need to have some scores or you won't be able to have the application considered. You can work on the application and finish it at another time, but has to be submitted at once (or at least won't be reviewed until it's considered finished). So I think you need to wait for the PSAT scores. Are you taking the ACT or SAT between now and the end of the year? If so, I'd wait for those scores as well. You don't need the official copy, just the scores that you'll input on your own.

As far as conflicting with school, I would talk to your school, but most are more than accommodating for something like this. My son missed the last 2 weeks of school and finals and had no problems doing so. As far as Girls State vs SS though, that's really up to you. If you KNOW you want USAFA, then Girls State would add a lot more to your application. At least for West Point it's viewed very highly - I would say far more than SS. But if you're not certain if this is what you want, attending would definitely be in YOUR best interest, just to help you in the decision-making process. SS is a marketing tool - more to convince you that you want an academy than to convince them they want you! One caveat might be if you think you have a chance of being recruited for a sport, it might give you a chance to talk to the coach, etc., but that's not guaranteed. My advice would be if there's any way possible to try to squeeze both in your schedule!

I'm from New Jersey, almost done the application. Think I'll wait a few days though, might still take the December SAT.

Just wondering, did all of you fill out every one of the 5 bullet points they give you in the last section? Because I don't know if I should try to fill them up or just put the most important things.

You can edit your application once you submit it if you want to submit it now and add your new SAT scores in later

and I didn't fill up all the bullet points, only because I didn't have enough stuff for it, but I would say fill up a lot of them but don't just put random things on there just to have all them filled up... that made no sense but just my opinion there!

I started the app, but my school doesn't like to tell us our class rank and gpa, I have to jump through a few hoops to get them

I am from TX-25 though

Where from in Minnesota? I just moved out to Massachusetts after growing up pretty much my whole life S of the river.

I took the PLAN test last year got like a 28 or 29 can't remember, but I didn't do so hot skipped like 6 Q per section, because I ran out of time.
Just took the PSAT a few months ago pretty sure I destroyed it so easy but not gonna get the results till Christmas break. Just submitted my app, probably gonna update my academic scores later.
Does anyone know how to find your PLAN test scores if you can't find your packet?

Any help would be appreciated thanks.
