Summer Seminar Participants

My son got the same letter this week saying that the admissions window opens this Sunday. I think it was independent from summer seminar. Just a reminder to anyone they had on their records.

I'd say it certainly couldn't hurt to contact his admissions counselor, especially if he's already met him/her. My son and husband went out in January to visit and my son had sent his PSAT scores a couple weeks earlier. They never showed up on his status page, but when they asked her about them (in person), she apparently had a stack a foot high of stuff waiting to go into the computer. I'm thinking they might have more pull than the ALO and a reminder that he is still interested might not be a bad idea!

I got the exact same letter this week, and I accepted SS a while back. It's interesting that the letter didn't mention that you need not fill out the PCQ if you applied for summer seminar.

falcongirl is correct. Once you've applied to SS, you can use the login to log on to your status page to see what you need to complete - it's large checklist of various items, from essays to teacher responses to DodMERB. PCQ should be bypassed (because it's already completed) once you log on.

But should/can you update things in that PCQ? My son has new ACT scores, grades, activities, etc. to add in, and would like to rework his resume (the one submitted for SS was his first attempt at one and very bare-bones). He hasn't updated anything since he was already accepted.

Or is the PCQ just to "qualify" to get an actual Candidate Questionaire which he will do at a later date? Just wondering how much to be planning on working on Sunday!

Thanks!

You can't update the PCQ, but the ACT, grades, activities, etc. will be asked for as part of the actual application. I may be wrong on this, but I think all who "pass" the PCQ will get a shot at the "actual Candidate Questionaire" - I'm assuming you mean the application.

so my summer seminar application page automatically turns into the next step in the process of actual application to the academy? when does this happen?

The application is open to class of 2014, when do you actually get the checklist and information reguarding cfa and transcripts?

currently mine just says
status:applicant
Application:competitive

oh can you submit more ACT scores as your applying?

I recommend just enjoying whatever freedom you have right now, up until seminar. After seminar is when they opened up our checklists, or whatever, and from then on it was a constant weight on your mind. Now that I have my appt, some 9 months later, its a relief, but you'll have plenty of time to stress later. Trust me. And yes, you can submit your most recent test scores, whenever you recieve them.

Did it make you confirm your social security number and birth date?
