Can anyone provide details on the timing and method of communication that USNA notifies candidates of their acceptance (or otherwise) for the summer seminar? USAFA and USMA were different and with their earlier timelines have already heard back from them so I'm curious how USNA handles it. Thanks for your assistance!

S received a letter (regular delivery, US Mail) dated 19 Feb 2008 for his NASS Session 1 2008, notification and congratulations. It had all the info needed about accepting, deposit and medical requirements that needed to be completed by 15 April.

My daughter received her's in mid-late March for session II. I came via letter in USPS.

Ditto what Maximus said. Exactly the same. Applied 2 Feb 08.

Now I'm scared...

You get the reply that early? (I applied... February 2nd/3rd)

*twiddles his thumbs in nervousness*

I think they mean that they recieved the letters sometime after Feb 19, since that was the date the letters were postmarked. As it is only the 15th, we theoretically have 4 more days before the academy even sends out the letters. If USNA keeps the same schedule, that is.

I guess I'll be camping by the mailbox...coming the week after the 19th...

*gulps nervously*

It could be a longer wait. My son applied Feb 1 or 2 last year, and did not hear he was accepted until mid to late April. So if it doesn't come right away, be patient.

Yes, that was exactly it. The letter was dated the 19th but, it got to us sometime later. Last year the 19th was a Wednesday and if I recall, we received it about a week later on a Tuesday. Something like 22 Feb or 23 Feb. We heard of people getting letters as late as April so don't get nervous just yet!
