Summer Seminar... what is going to happen?

My DS is attending session B but we bought tickets the first week of March before things were this crazy. He is already disappointed about the canceling of Boys State so sure would love for this to work out but seems unlikely. Like many of you, he has been planning this for many years.

Ah, the best-laid plans...
I'm so sorry about the news. Everything is getting canceled, and it is very upsetting. I still have my hopes up for a positive outcome. But most importantly, safety is first. Please, take care. :')

Hello Summer Seminar students!

We hope you and your family are healthy during this unprecedented time in history. As our country navigates through the COVID-19 crisis, the Air Force Academy is committed to the health and well-being of everyone involved in our programs. We understand there is an immense amount of uncertainty during this time, and that some of you may be experiencing financial hardships as a result.

Because of this we are asking you to pause your registration. We recommend not making travel arrangements or mailing your checks and liability waivers. We will make a final decision on whether to hold Summer Seminar or not, no later than May 1, 2020.

If the decision is to continue with Summer Seminar as planned, we ask you send in your payment and book your travel arrangements as soon as possible.

If the decision is to cancel Summer Seminar, we will work as fast as we can to provide refunds for those that have already sent their payment for the registration fee. We will also provide a letter for you to use when attempting to cancel any travel arrangements made previously. We cannot guarantee refunds for your travel arrangements, but we can guarantee a refund for your registration fee.

Please stay safe and follow the guidelines put forth by your local and federal government. We hope to see all of you in June. Please visit the official Air Force Academy website for the latest updates from our Superintendent regarding COVID-19.

I bought a ticket for session 1 for my son on March 1st, on American Airlines, from Milwaukee to Colorado Springs. I paid $527 round trip. I just checked on AA website and the same flight is now $ 165. I am on-hold with AA to try to get the current price.

Check out their website. You may be able to change it easy-peasy online. Airlines have very much relaxed their refund/exchange policies due to COVID.

Did you have any luck with AA? We purchased the basic rate which is normally no changes on March 4th but our tickets are now significantly cheaper as well.
