How hard is it to get in?

What are my chances of getting in the Summer Seminar (I’m only a freshman so assume I continue this pace or improve)
  • about a 3.5 GPA(unweighted)
  • AP bio
  • Honors math
  • Honors intro to law
  • Honors Psych
  • student leader prep(optional class)
  • school baseball team
  • AAU baseball team(4th national)
  • student council
  • volunteer at community camp in the summer(around 60 hours so far)
Thanks!

With regards to SAT scores, don't feel that if you don't hit 700+ per section you won't get in. I had a 590 CR and 580 M. Nothing special, but I believe my extracurriculars made up for this. Make sure you have some redeeming quality to offset a negative. Don't use this as an excuse to score low though. I'm just a terrible test taker. I've taken the SAT officially twice, but have taken quite a few practice one's through Kaplan. I just can't seem to crack the 600 mark, I'm always 10-20 points away. Very frustrating.

Im only a freshman so I don’t have any scores yet…
the only real standardized test I have taken is MCAS and thats just a state test that lets you graduate high school, but I got a perfect score on a few sections(maybe ½). But I’m generally a good test taker so I think I can get a 700+(hopefully).

Apply early

Get your application in as soon as possible since SS has a rolling admission. Sounds like you're on the right track. Good luck.

Hey,

Only a freshman? SS doesn't accept applications until the winter of junior year. It's not quite time to worry yet.

Also, sounds like a cool curriculum at your school.

Always grateful,
