Summer sessions

The calendar shows the first session starts June 2. On June 23, it says first session ends and second session begins. So if a cadet has first session leave, when is check out and when is check in? Is that posted somewhere? I couldn't get the USAFA site to load.

They can leave on 2 June in the morning and check in ~10 AM til 2 PM on 23 June. There are some stipulations about leaving on 1 June when they're done with everything; the details are in the OpOrd that your cadet has.

But it doesn't list any times, just days, even if it's 43 pages long.

Some of that's because the times vary by what activity your cadet has. There will be another OPORD for jump and one for survival, etc. and the times will be different for them. Last year my son was able to leave very early in the morning the Saturday after jump but also had to be back Saturday morning for survival, and so had to fly in Friday night to get a flight that worked. Definitely don't book anything unless it's changeable until your cadet knows for sure.

Plans are to get him back on the 22nd (Friday) but we heard rumors that they had to be back by 1330 that day rather than in time to report for duty on the 23rd. Never had any confirmation either way. One cadet told his mom he didn't need to back til the 24th. We're going with the 22nd.
