Summer Squadron Assignments are Posted!

Since my DD was in Barbarians last year, let me correct all you new Barbarians: It's "Big Bad Barbarians!"

Ha! :bounce1:

Does anyone know the pattern for In Processing report times? For example I've seen an 8:15 report time for a Cobra and a 10:15 report time for a Flying Tiger. Do all Cobras report at 8:15 and all Flying Tigers at 10:15?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but yes, all Cobras will report at 0815, Big Bad Barbarians at 0730, etc. so the squadron will go thru in-processing together and team-building will begin right from the start.

Last year, appointees with medical waivers had to report with the Aggressors regardless of their squadrons report time. They had to get a quick medical once over.

I believe they give a window of time for each squadron to report but there are cases where you may report later or earlier. For example my DS last year flew out the night before and stayed with his sponsor family. I believe they had 3 basics that needed to report and all were in different squadrons with different report times. They all went together so they didn't have to make 3 trips taking them and this was no big deal.

Even if you report with a different squadron, don't fret. They will very nicely guide you to your proper place once you get on the bus and are taken to the USAFA Salon for your initial pedicure and massage! :)

Seriously though, good luck to each and every one of you. There may be bumps in the road but make sure you enjoy the ride and don't let quitting be an option. My DS went through this one year ago and when asked today he said the summer was slow but the year flew by. Thousands before you have done it and you will too. Learn to smile even in the toughest times and it will all be more enjoyable! And remember pain is only temporary!

My DS got "Executioners". I was wondering if there is any rhyme or reason as to how they place them in quadrons.

On our Appointee Tour the guide told us that they spend a considerable amount of time on BCT squadron assignments to reach a good balance of IC's, gender, academics, geography, etc.

For parents of Hellcats you have just won the "stalking webguy award." The yellow of the Hellcat lanyards pop in pictures! It really assists in narrowing down which pictures to look through.
