Summer Squadron Assignments are Posted!

For parents of Hellcats you have just won the "stalking webguy award." The yellow of the Hellcat lanyards pop in pictures! It really assists in narrowing down which pictures to look through.

It might be a little more difficult for all of us Webguy stalkers as I heard they are doing away with color coded lanyards and just the name tag portion will be color coded......

MombaBomba, we were told that this year lanyards are not going to be different colors by squadron. All lanyards same color but placard attached to lanyard will be squadron color. Hope it will be easy to see in Webguy pics!

I just got back from the Doolie dinner hosted by the parent club. The guest speaker was the Webguy and he confirmed that all lanyards are black this year. The plastic pockets/placards are color coded.

This is awesome. Traditions continue. Some of these BCT squadron names are now over 30 years in continuation . . .

A- Aggressors
B - Barbarians "We eat rocks!"
C - Cobras
D - Demons (I was a Demon as a Basic in summer 1979)
E - Executioners
F - Flying Tigers (AKA "F-Troop" -- the older parents will get the reference ;) )
G - Guts
H- Hellcats (used to be "Hawks" or "Huns")
I - Interceptors
J - Jaguars

They nixed Interceptors and Jaguars, squads now only run A-H!

Trust me you'll be able to spot them. The trick is follow them through the process for I-Day. If you're not dropping them off have them tell you what shirt they're wearing. Once you spot them take the time to look at the face and clothes around them. Once you have that in your head you have more than one visual to key off of.

If you know that you're child is always lined up next to the young lady with the red hair and glasses you'll spot them too and you'll start focusing in on pictures around that person and you'll see you child. Once they start making close friends you'll start spotting them too. Makes scanning the pictures a lot easier.

Hardest time to spot them is when they're in formation and wearing their covers. My DS wears his a bit high and it bugs the hell out of me but I use it to spot him in a crowd. :hammer:

Can you tell I had a lot of practice during Prep :screwy:? It was a bit hard for 250 I can only image 1,300 young men and women.

Go DEMONS!

Yeah, study the people that surround your DD/DS. I was able to find a striking young lady who just popped in photos. My DS was always within one of two cadets of this pretty young lady. She was a little disconcerted (and maybe just a little scared ;)) when I found her that first Parents Weekend, told her and her mother how grateful I was to her daughter, and took a photo to keep, ha ha. Good luck and best wishes, Class of 19!

Go Cobras! (minor shout out to F Troop where I did my beast) Grats to all. Won"t be long. :)

The following link gives an idea which squadrons are fed from the various BCT units. Without the flight can't be narrowed further yet. You can however predict an area in the dorms where your cadet will be housed. It's top to bottom east to west. Vandy houses first and second group and Sijan 3rd and 4th. My Cobra DS will be in the 3rd quarter of Vandy from the east.

The link isn't working. I'd be interested to see what they have. Thanks.

It works out to be the following:

Aggressors – CS1 Mighty Mach One, CS2 Delta Tau Deuce, CS3 Dogs of War, CS4 Fighting Fourth, CS5 Wolfpack

Barbarians – CS6 Raging Bull Six, CS7 Shadow Seven, CS8 Eagle Eight, CS9 Viking Nine, CS10 Tiger Ten

Cobras – CS11 Reb Eleven, CS12 Dirty Dozen, CS13 Bulldawgs, CS14 Cobras, CS15 War Eagles

Demons – CS16 Proud Chicken Hawks, CS17 Stalag 17, CS18 Nightriders, CS19 Wolverines, CS20 Trolls

Executioners – CS21 Blackjacks, CS22 Raptors, CS23 Barnstormers, CS24 Phantoms, CS25 Rock Hard Redeye

Flying Tigers – CS26 Barons, CS27 Thunderbirds, CS28 Blackbirds, CS29 Black Panthers, CS30 Knights

Guts – CS31 Grim Reapers, CS32 Roadrunners, CS33 Ratz, CS34 Loose Hawgs, CS35 Huge Wild Weasels

The way I understand it they will find out what flight they're are in when they inprocess. So if you child is in Cobras Bravo Flight their academic squad will be Dirty Dozen.

Ty for the clarification. Might have to copy paste in your browser but I've been to the web page today. It's working and gives you a pdf that is basically the previous post :)
