Our family never tires of attending and volunteering at EAA Air Venture held in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. It is the best STEM event out there for all ages with hundreds of thousands of people who attend during the week. If you are within in driving distance or can fly-in, I recommend coming for a day or for the rest of the week. No reservations are needed for Camp Scholler There is always space to camp with about 50,000 or so people from all over the world snoring together. The late night evening air shows are spectacular and there is something for everyone everyday. Yesterday I spent the afternoon hanging out at KidVenture. Sometimes it is easy for me to understand things the way they explain it to a 10 year old. Here are some links from AirVenture Monday - July 20th, 2015. It was a wonderful opening day for sure. I loved watching the Airbus A350 XWE arrival. Wow... it was such a quiet landing. I worked for McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) for many years, so it was interesting to watch the competition! Are you working on ROTC or Academy applications? Or a rising sophomore or junior? Friday, July 24th is a college social. If free pizza sounds good, then head over to the Aviation Gateway Park. Yesterday I learned that there will be a shortage of pilots, so many airlines were recruiting right next to the military and college booths. So... if you can't get out to Oshkosh this year, than be sure to add it to your bucket list for the future. Then get an online daily review of the events and read the articles, especially if you plan to be a pilot one day. I've added lots of links to get you started! Enjoy your summer!
