For those Midshipmen considered rising 3/C, 2/C or 1/C, you should download and read the attachment. This has been released as of yesterday, and outlines the requirements for all of our NROTC summer cruises.
You should especially take note of the MEDT assignments, which are basically where you will embark and debark for your cruises. If anyone is hoping to drive their POV for their summer cruise, that will require PNS approval. (And I know there are some GWU students who lurk here, so I will tell you upfront I am NOT a fan of you taking your POV......so don't anticipate an easy yes on that request)
Your units will have a copy of this instruction, and should help guide you through that. But every once in a while, there is an LT advisor who did not read it all the way through, so having this information in your hip pocket will prevent any issues for the summer.
And while I am happy to try and field some questions on this, it really needs to be something you discuss with your units. They get to drive how this is accomplished.
For the parents, you should feel free to ask your DS or DD......so have you read this instruction and do you understand what your requirements are for summer cruise? (It was literally just signed, so most of them will stare at you like a deer in the headlights.)
