Sunday phone calls

We have our webcam page from USMMA open and just saw AN AWESOME GROUP WALK IN FORMATION, TOTALLY TOGETHER AS IF THEY'VE BEEN A GROUP FOR QUITE AWHILE. Be proud parents! -from a father who was in the army...

I am thankful for each of you on here. You have quickly become friends and family.

The calls reported today seem a little varied and that is understandable. Our DS actually sounded fine, but a little shellshocked. It was/is more difficult than what I thought it would be to ferret out enough information in the short call to provide the correct amount of uplifting motivational wisdom to him. If there was a parent DI standing over me, I'd probably be getting yelled at still!

He is probably one of the candidates targeted for the extra physical training. The flu bug running through his company is probably making it even more "interesting". The company will still be expected to meet the same standards. And they should be.

While I spent a lot of time trying to prepare him mentally for what was ahead, surprisingly, I spent zero time preparing my old gray haired self. Like everything else, "talking about" is nothing like "doing." Sounds a lot like Acta non Verba doesn't it?

We'll keep watching for photos next week.

Thanks for listening family.

We got our call...

We (or my wife really) got the call at a few min before 11:00 AM Denver time. My wife had the phone on vibrate and stepped out right as the Sermon was starting at church. She estimated the call to be 3 min....

Our son indicated the DI was right there and the call was made from the DI's phone. On a scale of 1 to 10 he said it was a "7" - Which were were again a little surprised to hear.

Here is the synopsis... Loves his roomie, Food good, tired all the time, physical training "piece of cake", Thinks the DI's are "funny" has a hard time not laughing...

Sermon was on Daniel Chapter 6 - Daniel in the Lions Den! HAHA

Would have been a perfect day if Tom Watson would have sunk that putt on 18!

Our call came through around 5:15 yesterday. Yes, he's Band Company (we knew with his band experience he's be there) and he thinks the place is crazy. Is he going to make it? He seemed insulted that we asked. And he loves the waterfront activities - they let him pilot one of the powerboats down to Queens the other day.

Thanks, all for sharing your calls. It helps to know that what he's experiencing is pretty common.
