Hey prior here, how will this affect my offer to the USAFAPS that I received in March?
I received notification that I was cleared by DoDmerb in February, then about a week or 2 later when I was playing soccer I tore my meniscus. I had surgery in early March for it and recovery is going great my doctor is confident I'll be ready for BMT. I've already notified DoDMERB I was last told that it will go to their staff for review. As I'll be ready a month before BMT but, just wondering what they might say.

Congratulations on your offer for USAFAPS, and I’m sure sorry to hear about your injury and surgery.
You can read the standards here.

It sounds like any meniscus surgery within six months will be a DQ. I’m not sure how it works if you’ve already been cleared and given an offer. If you have a point of contact at the prep school for your admission, you may want to reach out to them. They may be able to give you some guidance.Best of luck!

Thanks for showing me this document I see what it'd be a DQ.

I'll be 4 months out of my surgery by BMT time so, hopefully, I can get it waivered by DoDMERB. I also see the USAFA Command Surgeon grants some waivers so maybe that'll work if DoDMERB doesn't do it.
