Hi everyone! (This is my first thread so please bare with me) I am currently a sophomore in high school and have started to really look at colleges. My first choice is USNA, but because of the competitiveness of where we live to get in, I realize that I need to consider other options. My dad is an '85 alum and was on the swimming and water polo teams while at VMI. I have heard many stories about what it was like, but my dads knowledge of what it is like now (especially since I am a female) is a bit outdated. Does anyone have some insight on how competitive it is to get recruited to swim at the I/ what the swim team is like now? Any knowledge would be greatly appreciated! :)

Hey, I actually was recruited to swim for VMI's women team with a small scholarship this year; however, I turned the offer down. I just went on to the Keydet website and filled out a survey like form and the coach sent me an email in response asking to give me a call. The coach was very helpful and even had connected me with a rising first class to be my Dyke. My times weren't extremely fast, but just fill out the form and see where it goes from there. Good luck.

Thank you! Best of luck at USMA
