My DD was just informed that she received a NROTC scholarship to her first choice school. She did not get into that school. What happens now? She would love to use it at her second choice!
Thanks for the info...she has been accepted to her second choice and offered an academic scholarship. Now begins the process of figuring all that out! On a side note, my dad is a Vandy NROTC grad! ANCHOR DOWNNothing happens until you take action.
From the NROTC website (https://www.nrotc.navy.mil/contact.html):
Once selected [for a scholarship], you may submit a Placement Change Request, with a copy of your admission letter to that school, and your scholarship will be moved. Placement Change Requests should be sent to: pnsc_nrotc.placement@navy.mil
If your daughter has yet to be accepted to her second choice, just hang tight. They are not processing scholarship placement change requests without an admission letter (new this year).
Great news. Looks like the plan is coming together nicely. Thanks for the info...she has been accepted to her second choice and offered an academic scholarship. Now begins the process of figuring all that out! On a side note, my dad is a Vandy NROTC grad! ANCHOR DOWN
Congratulations NavyBrat71! Did you daughter just receive this news yesterday? Would this be a late announcement for the February Board? I was under the impression that no one would be awarded a scholarship until sometime in March when the next board meets. This process is a bit confusing for a first-timer.My DD was just informed that she received a NROTC scholarship to her first choice school. She did not get into that school. What happens now? We got a snail mail letter that was dated Feb 13. Such a relief but still waiting on the big one!Congratulations NavyBrat71! Did you daughter just receive this news yesterday?
