So jumping in here, any recommendations for an additional device for DS?

iPad vs Microsoft surface pro?

Thanks

If it hasnt changed, about 7 or 8 years ago we started using the iPads for accessing schoolwork. I would find out which curriculum requires iPads or other handheld devices and see if you can find out whether they are issued or subsidized by the school. I remember we were all required to purchase an iPad and given 600 or 700 in cash to help offset costs.

I'd get an iPad over a Surface; a Surface is more like a laptop and you're issued a pretty decent laptop already. Nothing requires an iPad anymore but I use an old one for some textbooks and for leisure.

Would you be able to provide the series/model numbers of the approved iPad's?

Thanks

I would get an IPad with an Apple Pencil. I’ve been using one since the transition to Online classes, and it was one of the best investments I have made for my academics.

Anything that can support iOS 13. Though, I would get one of the newer models as they will continue to update the requirements for personal devices on the USMA WiFi.

Compatible models with iOS 13:
  • iPad Pro 12.9in first and second generation
  • iPad Pro 10.5in
  • iPad Pro 9.7in
  • iPad Pro 11in
  • iPad Air 2
  • iPad Air 3
  • iPad fifth generation
  • iPad sixth generation
  • iPad seventh generation
  • iPad Mini 4
I would definitely get one that is compatible with the Apple Pencil.
