Taekwondo team?

The Naval Academy does have a Jiu Jitsu team, if you are into grappling.
Is there the possibility of cross-training between the Jiu Jitsu team and the Judo team if time allows? To be more specific, will coaches be alright with that happening?

697biling, I have no idea, I am just a candidate with a CPR status. I am a karate girl and was only answering the original post. Didn't know there were others that studied the martial arts in this forum.

Check on the website under the sports area to see what intramurals and clubs they have that relate to this interest.

There's a taekwondo team. It's small and just a club, but it's definitely there. When I did my CVW, one of my plebe's roommates was on the TKD team. I'm on my phone so it's difficult for me to give you any links but just do a quick search on the USNA website's club sports section and you should find it.

I didn't know that there would be many people interested in martial arts.
What belts do some of you have in TKD, any competitions won ,etc?

I have my second degree black belt.
Bronze in European championships and silver in my county and state, and a year and a half experience of instructing TKD.
I'd like to be on the TKD team if I get into USNA.
Anyone else out of curiosity?

White belt in Judo, First degree black belt in Hapkido. I picked up Judo at the end of my sophomore year of high school, and steered clear of competition to avoid serious injury while dealing with academy applications. I also wrestled in middle school and my freshman year of high school!

I have a black belt in karate. The style is called "Ketsugen" born out of the streets of Brooklyn NY and based off of the Kempo style. I stopped competing a couple of years ago, now I teach kids.

I wonder
If she trains in MCMAP, that would satisfy her club sport requirement.

Bjj forget

I’m extremely excited to start as a USNA Prof. A close second is involving myself with the bjj club (been rolling a little over 11 years now). 👊😄
