My son needs to take a bus to get to MMA for PWE as he needs to leave later and cannot come with the rest of us. What is the best way to get from Silver Spring, Maryland to MMA???
Thanks!!

My brother takes the Vamoose bus from Bethesda to New York City then takes a train to Long Island and then the local bus or a taxi. The bus is $30 each way and every four trips is free. You can also call if you're running about 5 minutes late and they'll hold the bus. They will also let you exchange trips or go on earlier or later trips if there's room. There's also wireless. My brother said he prefers Vamoose over the other companies and so do his friends. Hopefully this helps

Your son could also take Amtrak from Union Station, DC to Penn Station. Once at Penn Station, he'd take the LIRR to Great Neck on the Port Washington line~35 min. He would then take the N58 bus and that would drop him off right at the Academy gate. Typically, the bus leaves the station within 5 minutes of getting off the LIRR. You need to get off, go up the stairs, over the bridge and through the station to the curb to meet the bus. $2.50 in quarters or use the Metro card which you can get at Penn Station kiosk when you get the LIRR ticket. Metro card is good for up to 4 people.

Thank you. We did end up getting him a train ticket and were thinking about a cab from the station, but this is better! Great to have the bus info. for next time!

I remember making the walk from school to the station and back. Acutally, I am surprised that I remember some of the walks back. I do recall one that involved a shopping cart. . . . .
