My daughter has been accepted to TAMU and will be joining the Corps of Cadets. She has applied for an AROTC scholarship and is under consideration. My question is if she accepts a possible scholarship is her experience in the Cadets any different than if she was not on scholarship? Is AROTC just a subset of the Cadets or is she part of a different program? Thanks in advance for any information.

Congratulations to your daughter! She will be a member of the Texas A&M corps of cadets portion of the school first and foremost. They have immense pride and a helluva network! While in the Corps, she will be enolled in AROTC and doing MS Labs, etc. with her fellow Army counterparts. Highly recommend also getting involved with the parents group and interacting with fellow parents as a great way to form bonds and develop camaraderie among cadets and their parents alike. Congrats to her and good luck!
